JCL – Call for Submission
The Journal of Commercial Law, a publication of the Commercial Law Development Services, is the pioneer commercial law journal in Nigeria. It is a refereed journal in the field of Commercial Law that provides an in-depth discussion of current developments and topical issues in all areas of commercial law. It also aims to promote the effective practice of commercial law within and outside Nigeria.
The Journal of Commercial Law welcomes submission of articles from potential contributors. Articles should deal with commercial law and issues relating to it and must be well researched and found to be of acceptable national and international standards. Articles should be between 2,500-10,000 words, although submissions may be considered if they are below or above the word length. Articles should break new ground on commercial law and provide in-depth analysis of current developments in commercial law. All articles should be sent to publications@clds-ng.com

GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS
In addition to observing the Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities, contributors to the Journal of Commercial Law (JCL) must be guided by the following standards:
- All features should be relevant to the scope and purpose of JCL.
- All features should offer an important or engaging critical or analytical insight.
- They should be clearly and succinctly argued. Their findings should be well supported.
- They should demonstrate methodological soundness.
- They should be situated in an appropriate field or tradition of scholarly work.
- They should be stylistically consistent and submitted in a publishable form.
- They must use clean and constructive language.
- JCL does not allow denigrating and libelous or defamatory comments.
- JCL will show a fair and balanced view
- JCL must not be shown to be encouraging or condoning criminal or immoral activity
- JCL will not allow comments that encourage violence or comments sympathizing with violence. Swearing is not permitted within the content of any of the Journal's materials.
- Comments that may result in others feeling threatened or specifically targeted or abused must be avoided.
- JCL does not allow any article to express hatred or excessive negative feeling towards other groups or individuals.
- JCL does not allow any statements or comments about a person or organisation that cannot be proved to be true and or may be considered damaging to their reputation and or legitimate interests.
- Invasion of privacy in relation to people or organisations is to be strictly avoided.
- References to upsetting / distressing subjects: Comments must be specifically relevant to the topic being discussed.
- Must be fair and reasonable.
- Names of victims in relation to specific legal events should not be mentioned unless they are already in the public domain e.g. litigation or public hearing or administrative enquiry; or publication in a news medium.
